Eco - Trekking
Imagine, if in the course of a trek in a pristine part of the country, you dropped two toffee wrappers, your partner left a bit of toilet paper on the trail, your guide set up a campfire each night and your kids collected a small fossil or rock each. Suppose that particular trail attracts a hundred small groups every year, which behaved in exactly the same manners as your group. Now, suppose you returned after ten years, would you find the environs as pristine ? Before you grumble to your friends about the devastation, remember two of the two thousand toffee wrappers littered on the trek were yours. No matter how small the offence seems, it all adds up. Remember to leave nothing but your footprints.

The form of 'Eco Tourism' places the highest value on culture and natural heritage. This strategy seeks to protect that heritage and culture which is the foundation of the travel industry in India. The tourist travels abroad or at home in search of pleasure, leisure, adventure, recreation at historical sites, wildlife parks, beaches, towns and villages.
The Uttaranchal eco-system provides the ideal habitat for a huge variety of animal and bird species. They create travel and eco tour experiences that are fun and exciting, then go beyond the ordinary to incorporate elements that promote cross-cultural understanding, encourage environmental sustainability, and fulfill long-held personal dreams.
Formidable Mountain Ranges
Landlocked behind formidable mountain barriers in the western Himalayas, sheltered from the rain-bearing monsoon winds, the desolate district of Chamoli in Uttaranchal is renowned not only for some of the wild, untamed and enchanting mountain scapes but also for its unique culture.
Changes have occurred in dress patterns, food habits; traditional occupations like sheep rearing and even in the religious life. Although change is inevitable and no community wishes to preserve itself as a museum of backwardness, it is the rapid pace of change and a lack of understanding of the nature of change, which a society is unable to control, or direct that touches a cord of concern. The development of tourism accelerates this process of change and rapidly pushes traditional societies into the global economy totally ill-equipped.
By planning and promoting a healthy, sustainable, tourism industry in this cold desert district, the government will have fulfilled its share of responsibility but in the end, it may not be the number of tourists but their sensitivity towards the local culture and environment that will determine the complexion of tourism and the future of this unique heritage.
OUR AIM :

Please be careful while you are visiting Indian Himalayas
Travel in Groups of not more than five. Larger groups make a larger mess. If in a large group, walk in a single file on the track rather than abreast to avoid trampling on flowers and ferns.
Leave areas as you found them. Camp, wherever possible, at campsites used by others instead to trying to clear the ground for a new campsite.
Trees are meant to grow, use alternate fuel such as cooking gas, kerosene oil. Be careful with matches. Grass fire causes serious damage. Encourage your guides and porters to follow conservation measures.
Wild life protection
disturb wildlife, plants or their natural habitats. Allow the flora and
fauna to flourish
in its natural environments; taking away of cutting, seeds and roots is
biodegradable waste and carry back all non-biodegradable. Bury human
waste and toilet paper away from water sources. Avoid using pollutants
such as detergents, in streams or springs.
We proposes you to contribute to preserve Garhwal Himalayas as unspoiled as it has always been!
